Gluxodent is a chlorhexidine-based endodontic irrigation solution used for flushing root canals during endodontic treatment. It provides strong disinfectant properties and is effective against Enterococcus faecalis and Candida albicans. Unlike sodium hypochlorite, it does not dissolve vital or necrotic pulp tissue and does not remove the smear layer, making it suitable as a final rinse or adjunct irrigant.
