Chirlac Rapid is a synthetic absorbable braided surgical suture made from polyglycolic acid polymer with a surface coating that is non-antigenic and non-fibroproductive. The suture retains 50% of its original tensile strength after 5 days, with complete loss of mechanical strength occurring at 10-14 days through hydrolysis degradation. Complete resorption occurs after 42 days as the polymer is degraded to glycolic acid and metabolized. Package contains 24 pieces of 75cm violet-colored sutures with HR13 reverse cutting needles in USP 4/0 (EP 1.5) size.
