Chirlac Braided is a synthetic, absorbable, braided surgical suture made from polyglycolic acid polymer with a surface coating that is non-antigenic and non-fibroproductive. The suture is colored violet with a non-irritating dye and causes minimal acute inflammatory tissue reaction. Absorption occurs through hydrolysis, with the material retaining approximately 75% tensile strength at 14 days, 50% at 3 weeks, and complete resorption occurring within 80-90 days.
