Chirlac Rapid is a synthetic absorbable braided surgical suture made from polyglycolic acid polymer with a non-antigenic, non-fibroproductive surface coating. The suture is violet-colored and causes minimal acute inflammatory tissue reaction, with absorption occurring through hydrolysis where the polymer degrades to glycolic acid that is metabolized by the body. The suture retains 50% of its original tensile strength after 5 days, loses all mechanical strength by 10-14 days, and achieves complete resorption within 42 days. Package contains 24 pieces of 45cm length sutures in USP 3/0 size.
