Synthetic absorbable monofilament surgical suture made from glycolic acid polymer and e-caprolactone. Monolac causes minimal acute inflammatory tissue reaction and undergoes gradual tensile strength loss and absorption through hydrolysis, with the polymer degraded to adipic acid that is absorbed and metabolized by the body. The suture retains 60% of original mechanical strength after 7 days, with complete absorption occurring between 90 to 120 days. Package contains 24 pieces of 45cm length.
