Synthetic absorbable braided surgical suture made from polyglycolic acid (PGA) polymer. Coated, non-antigenic and non-fibroproductive surface with violet dye; elicits minimal acute tissue reaction and is absorbed by hydrolysis. Tensile strength decreases progressively (approx. 50% remaining after 5 days), with complete resorption in about 42 days. Package contains 24 sutures of 75cm.
