Absorbable gelatin hemostatic sponge for local control of bleeding during surgical procedures when conventional measures (pressure, ligation, dressing) are impractical or insufficient. The porous gelatin matrix promotes platelet activation and supports fibrin formation to aid hemostasis. When implanted in vivo it is typically resorbed within 3–4 weeks; on bleeding mucosa it may liquefy within 2–5 days. Package contains 6 sponges of 80x30mm.
